Meeting with Local and state Law Enforcement Agencies

CC71 met with local Sheriffs, Bee Cave police and County Constable officers on Tuesday, February 26 2008. Highway safety and speed was discussed regarding driving habits on Highway 71. Law enforcement officers reported speed to be a problem during icing and rainy days. The group discussed issues of providing increased visual law enforcement on Hwy. 71 to remind people to drive safe! Travis County and Bee Caves police said that supplying law enforcement on Hwy. 71 is at the top of their priority list. 

A gentle reminder Please be respectful and cautious when driving next to a pulled over law enforcement officer. There is not much room on the side of Hwy 71 and it is state law to slow down or move to the furthest lane when passing beside a pulled over officer.
